We were able to take a short little trip to Sea World and Schlitterbahn over the 4th of July - sans baby! He stayed with my sister and had a great time with them. We were able to enjoy the weekend just the two of us, something we hadn't done for a year and was much needed. Surprisingly, we had a cool weekend with clouds and thunderstorms. It was a little frustrating at Schlitterbahn since it is so much in the shade and the water is cold river spring water so we were shivering much of the day. At Sea World, we got dumped on a few times throughout the day which was good because we didn't have to endure 100 degree temperatures. All in all, it was a great little getaway and we had fun feeling like a couple of kids. We stayed at a really cool little bed and breakfast in downtown San Antonio in the King William district with lots of other neat old historic homes. It was called the Gardenia Inn. I have decided it is so much more worth it to stay at places like that on trips if you can than to stay in regular old motels/hotels. They are about the same price (ours was less that weekend) and they give you an interesting place to stay with some character and a great breakfast!
